The panoramic photos are the result of stitching together several normal photos, shot with an 8Mpixel camera; click here for an article about the OpenSource software I have used.
Depending about the number of stitched photos (usually 3), the resulting photo has a very high pixels number and a size not lower than 30 Mbytes; so it is difficult to get them available by Internet.
So I had to resize the photos in order to reduce the pixel number and the Mbyte size; the resize is done manually with GIMP or automatically with Phatch (both are OpenSource software which I use with Ubuntu Linux).
The horizontal resolution is fixed at 1000px; so the vertical resolution depends upon the original photos.
The visualization page is a WordPress plugin, FlaGallery, and it is a Flash object so it is not completely configurable.
In fact there are some unuseful buttons; follows the list of the buttons we use.
On th upper right corner there is a little circular button with an i which stands for informations: a click overthe button shows the following informations overlapped to the photo:

  • GPS coors of the shot point
  • Shot date
  • Shot description

In the bottom right corner there is the FS button (the second); FS stands for Full Screen and a click over the button opens the full screen visualization.
ESC returns to the normal visualization.
